Packing List for Your Stay in a Holiday Apartment
I'm packing my suitcase, but what should I bring with me...? Take a look at our ALPS RESORTS packing list for your stay in a holiday apartment in Austria or Bavaria - in that way, you'll be perfectly prepared!
Holiday Checklist: What do you need at your holiday home?
This year, have you decided to enjoy a holiday with lots of space and no time constraints, and now you are looking forward to relaxed days spent at a holiday home in Austria or Bavaria? We have put together a packing list for your timeout at a holiday apartment, which you are welcome to download in pdf and print out. It will make packing your suitcases for your holiday (virtually) child’s play. Allowing you to focus completely on relishing the anticipation. After all, let’s be honest: You have plenty of other things on your mind to keep you occupied.
How is the kitchen in a vacation apartment equipped?
For many people (and families in particular), the biggest advantage of a vacation in a vacation apartment is that there are no fixed meal times - you decide what to eat when and where. The kitchens in our ALPS RESORTS accommodation are fully equipped. So the kids don't have to miss out on pasta with tomato sauce alla mamma, you don't have to miss out on your favorite muesli and coffee in your pajamas. And if things get a little louder during dinner? No problem, it's just the two of you!
Fully equipped kitchens in our case mean: cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery are available in sufficient quantities. The vast majority of accommodations have a hob, toaster, oven and microwave, fridge and freezer compartment. The dishwasher also does the washing up for you. A welcome pack with small washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, sponges, cleaning cloths and tea towels awaits you on arrival at your ALPS RESORTS accommodation.
If you are staying longer, it is best to bring
- more dishwasher tablets and washing-up liquid
- Sponge and tea towels
- kitchen roll, aluminum foil / cling film
- Baking paper and bin liners from home
Check the category descriptions of your booked resort on our resort pages for the packing list for your vacation in the vacation apartment! It's best to think about what dishes you want to cook on your vacation before you arrive. In the article "Quick and easy recipe ideas for the vacation apartment" you can get some initial inspiration.
Which spices and food to include on the packing list for the vacation apartment
We recommend for a vacation in a vacation apartment
- Your favorite spices, salt and pepper, vinegar and oil
- Coffee tabs or coffee powder, coffee filter, cocoa powder
- Storage boxes for leftovers or lunch boxes for outings
- A breakfast for the first morning in your apartment
Inform yourself about the opening hours of the nearest supermarket. Perhaps you can make a stop there when you arrive. Do you think freshly baked pastries are part of a successful day on vacation? Most of our vacation resorts offer bread roll service via the local bakeries. Feel free to ask your colleagues at reception!
Books, games and slippers for you holiday comfort
In contrast to the average hotel room, you have plenty of space in a vacation apartment or vacation home. To sit comfortably with the whole family at the table and make plans for the next day's vacation or to play a game of Activity with your friends in the living room. To lounge on the couch and finally pick up that book you've been looking forward to for so long. Or simply to retreat.
For our packing list for your vacation in the apartment, this means: think about
- Slippers
- (board) games
- the e-book reader or tablet
- and the corresponding charging cables
WLAN is available free of charge in the ALPS RESORTS in Austria.
Are towels and bedding provided at your holiday home?
Your booking at our ALPS RESORTS automatically includes towels and bedding. In addition to the bedding, you will receive 2 large and 1 small towel per person. In other words, you can cross them off your packing list for your stay in a holiday apartment. If you require a bathrobe or additional towels, you might be able to borrow them for an additional charge at the reception (please ask!) or simply bring them with you from home. Personal hygiene items, shower gel and shampoo as well as a first-aid kit and travel meds plus WC paper should be included in your personal luggage.
Bathing slippers and bikinis:
Wellness at your holiday home
Have you booked a chalet with whirlpool or sauna? At your apartment resort, is there a public wellness area or a swimming lake? In that case, don’t forget to pack your bikini, swimming trunks, flipflops and sunblock for your stay at a holiday apartment in Austria!
Packing list for a ski vacation in a vacation apartment
If you're going on a skiing holiday, also remember the following points on your packing list:
- Ski equipment: Skis, ski boots, poles or snowboard and boots, ski wax and service tools. If you rent on site, you can safely cross these items off the packing list for your ski holiday in your vacation apartment. In many of our ALPS RESORTS, you will receive exciting discounts on ski rental from our local cooperation partners.
- .
- Ski clothing: functional underwear, ski socks, ski suit, hat, scarf and tube scarf
- Other equipment: ski helmet, ski goggles, ski gloves, sunglasses, sun or cold protection cream, lip balm and first aid kit, rucksack
Now it's getting serious - Tips for a quick check-in
With your luggage packed, important documents such as your passports and booking confirmation stowed away in your handbag, your destination programed into your online route planner and the telephone number of the reception desk stored on your mobile phone (and the kids sitting in the car 😉), then your holiday can begin. We have two more tips for you – so that you don't lose valuable time checking into your holiday apartment:
- Make use of our Online Check-in, allowing you to enter the data about everyone traveling with you from the comfort of home. This will save you having to complete registration forms upon arrival and you will be able to move into your apartment even faster.
- Will you be arriving outside of regular office hours or reception times? Let the reception know when you expect to arrive approximately. In that way, our colleagues will be able to prepare all required documentation for your late check-in and make arrangements for you to pick up the key.
