Even though our holiday homes, chalets and holiday apartments in Salzburger Land are fully equipped, you should definitely not overlook the incredible array of delectable regional specialties. And to kick them up an extra notch, all it takes is some local butter or cheese, as is the case with Pongau- and Pinzgau-style Kaspressknödel and Kasnocken. Potato dishes and Bosna sausage are likewise in high demand, as is the beer, a beverage that is popularly brewed, drunk and even eaten here in Salzburg. Best-known are Salzburg beer soup and Salzburg “beer meat” with dumplings. For dessert, we recommend a plate of Salzburger Nockerl.
Sightseeing Attractions in Salzburger Land
One of the most popular excursion destinations in Salzburger Land is the Grossglockner High-Alpine Road. This 48 km long scenic road takes you across the Alps at the foot of the imposing Grossglockner, at over 2500 meters above sea level. Likewise an absolute must during your stay at a holiday home in Salzburger Land: Hohe Tauern National Park. The biggest nature sanctuary in the Alps is characterized by untouched nature whilst providing a home to more than 15,000 animal species. Here, you will also encounter the famous Krimml Waterfalls. Salzburger Land is likewise home to the World of Ice Giants, which is the world’s biggest ice cave. For a more historical flavor, we suggest Museum of the Celts Hallein as well as the countless castles scattered throughout the province. In winter, numerous attendees cheer on their favorites at the final of the Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen. The same goes, of course, for the FIS Women’s Night Slalom in Flachau, during the FIS Ski World Cup Downhill & Super-G in Zauchensee and the FIS Snowboard World Cup in Bad Gastein.
